The burbot is commonly confused with the close, ocean dwelling relative : the lingcod. This is where the Northwester slag Ling comes from. These can be quite large and very tasty fish. They are often called the poor mans lobster because of the lobsteresque back meat. Yes I am a bit squeamish around them, not having experienced this type of fish before.
