Lake Whitefish are the dominant fish at Banks Lake in north-central Washington. Highly revered for their meat in the Great Lakes region these fish represent are an underutilized fishery in the Pacific Northwest. Each winter they gather, in the thousands, to spawn at the north end of the lake where kayak anglers can easily reach the fishing grounds less than 0.5 mile from the ramp at Coulee Playland in Electric City, WA. Kayak anglers can take home 15 of these 2-4 lb fish which are an absolute thrill to catch on ultralight gear. As always wear your PFD and dress for cold water immersion.
